A safe person to talk to, a quiet place to breathe and help day or night, for 6,000 students in 12 secondary schools across 6 states.
AHERI GEIST
Too many young people and women suffer in silence. AHERI GEIST makes it normal to talk, safe to ask for help and possible to heal.

About AHERI GEIST
AHERI GEIST is our mental health and wellbeing programme area. It gives students, youths and women a safe first place to talk, and a clear route to professional help when they need it. We work in workplaces through the CARE DESK, in schools through the CARE HUB and in communities through the CARE CIRCLE.
SDG 3 Good health and wellbeing · SDG 4 Quality education · SDG 5 Gender equalityWhy it matters
About 20 million Nigerians live with a mental health condition, and only about 10% can reach care (World Health Organization, 2025). Nigeria has about 250 psychiatrists for more than 200 million people. For most students and women, the first person they can talk to is not a doctor. It is a trusted teacher, a trained volunteer or a friend.
By December 2027, increase early, safe and stigma free access to psychosocial support for 6,000 students and 450 women in the FCT, Kaduna and Enugu, through school wellbeing clubs, 100 trained Resilient Coaches, healing circles and a working referral pathway to clinical care.
