Who we are

Guiding people to navigate life and systems with clarity

It started in January 2021 with 1 online space where young people could finally talk. Today the Advocacy for Healing, Empowerment and Resilience Initiative (AHERI) is a registered Nigerian nonprofit organisation walking with students, youths, women and girls across the country.

Our story

A Nigerian organisation built to guide, not only to inform

Many programmes tell people what is wrong. AHERI stays long enough to help them find the way through, whether that means healing, choosing a path after school or reaching justice.

H
Healing

Emotional and psychological wellbeing is the foundation of a healthy life. We create safe spaces to speak, be heard and recover.

E
Empowerment

People thrive when they gain knowledge, confidence and access. We open doors to education, skills and opportunity.

R
Resilience

Individuals and communities need strength to withstand hardship and rise again. We build that strength for the long term.

Our vision

A society where women, girls, youths and students are emotionally well, clearly guided and fully empowered to navigate systems, access opportunities and build purposeful, resilient and sustainable futures.

Our mission

To advance the healing, empowerment and resilience of women, girls, youths and students through mental health support, life direction guidance, future focused skills, rights awareness and practical help to navigate systems.

Our values

8 values that shape everything we do

They guide how we treat every student, youth, woman and girl, how we work with partners and how we use every naira we receive.

01
Safety and dignity

We create safe, respectful spaces where every person feels valued and protected.

02
Empathy and compassion

We listen, understand and respond with care and without judgement.

03
Clarity and guidance

We give clear, practical support that helps people make informed decisions.

04
Equity and inclusion

We make sure underserved people have equal access to support and opportunity.

05
Integrity and accountability

We work with transparency, responsibility and a commitment to real impact.

06
Empowerment and independence

We equip people to navigate life on their own, not only to receive support.

07
Innovation and relevance

We build practical, forward thinking solutions for today and tomorrow.

08
Resilience and sustainability

We help people and communities withstand challenges and thrive over time.
