Students told us they cannot remember long codes. So there are no slips and no activation codes. You only remember your Care name and your own password.

Add your school code
At the end, AHERI asks for your school code. It is on the Care Corner poster and in your classroom. It tells us which school, never who you are.
Get your Care name
AHERI gives you an easy Care name, like BrightMango27. You never give your real name.
Choose an easy password
Pick a password you can remember, of at least 6 letters or numbers. Then add a hint and a secret word, in case you forget.
No real name anywhere. Your school does not know which Care name is yours.
Good passwords are easy for you and hard for others
- Use a word and a number you like, such as a food and your lucky number
- Do not use your name, your class or your birthday
- Never tell anyone your password, not even a friend or a teacher
- Nobody from AHERI will ever ask for it
No school code? You can still talk to us
If you skip the school code, you can still talk and get help, but the chat is not saved. If you are under 18, your school code also shows that your school has the agreement of your parent or guardian. [Wording to be confirmed with legal advice]
Free and anonymous, with no school code
Youths aged 18 to 25 and women aged 18 and over use the AHERI CARE CIRCLE, which is always free. Nobody asks for your real name, your phone number or your email.

Your hint and secret word bring you back. Nobody at your school can see or reset your password.

Start a new chat. It is free. A trained AHERI responder can help you get your old chats back after a few safety questions.

The account locks for 30 minutes, so nobody can keep guessing.
Shared phone?
Tap Quick exit at any time. The CARE HUB also signs you out after 30 minutes of doing nothing.

Notes and sources
- The Care name, school code and secret word on this page are examples only.
- A password of at least 6 letters or numbers, 5 tries and a 30 minute lock are proposed settings, to be tested in the school pilot.
- The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 treats a person under 18 as a child and asks for the agreement of a parent or guardian, with some exceptions. The exact wording is to be confirmed with legal advice.
